The Purple Sorcerer has done it again…

Nebin Pendlebrook’s Perilous Pantry is their latest release. Here is the blurb

nebinThe tiny village of Bitterweed Barrow is unaccustomed to mysterious tunnels, missing halflings, or the need for brave adventurers, but now it has all three! Can a band of gong-farmers and shoe-cobblers muster the courage to descend into the darkness and confront the terror that waits beyond Nebin Pendlebrook’s unexpectedly perilous pantry?

Designed to be completed in a single furious session, this Instant Action 0-Level Dungeon Crawl Classics adventure drops your players into peril straight away. Dangerous foes, wicked traps, and ancient secrets await!

Interesting premise, but I was a bit concerned about the single session aspect. I generally prefer longer games that help invest the players into the story and their character.  However, I am such a huge fan of the Sunken City I decided to give it try.

Dude.

This adventure just moved to the top of my Must Play list! This is an extremely imaginative and intriguing adventure campaign starter – there is so much hinted at that you really could base a whole campaign around it…if anyone survives. This is a killer funnel – interesting monsters, strange rooms, puzzles, traps, treasure, strategically placed replacement characters (I did say it was a killer funnel), more monsters,…

Besides the most excellent adventure, the module also includes advise for running in a con and what to cut out if running out of time, elaborating for extended play, monster tactics, continuing the story along several different end-game scenarios, battle maps, cut-n-fold figures, and player handouts.

This is one of those rare purchases that I honestly think should be more expensive and it would still be totally worth it.
